Dwell time is the time between a user arriving from search and returning to search. High dwell time = useful content. Low = the user looks for a different answer.

Difference from other metrics

Bounce — left without action. Dwell — returned to search. Time on page — total time.

Good dwell time

Blog 2-4 min, product 1-2, short answer 30-60s, guide 5-10 min.

Content quality
